The Great Snow of '09

I'm sure everyone would have gotten a good laugh out of the freak out that was caused by five inches of snow but when your town doesn't own snow plows it becomes an issue! Lucky for Tim and I it was also inauguration day so with us snowed in we were able to watch the whole days events. Here is a whole lot of pictures from the day. I'm going to put a few more up later but it's just about dinner time. Hope you enjoy them!

These were from 5am. Tim had gotten up early to ride and I was so excited to see snow that I stayed awake!

Maddie rolling in the snow. She did that a lot!

You can see Liz there on the right hand side and if you look on the left you'll see a black head....it's not Chester...that's Bella!! They are our fantastic neighbors dogs....and Maddie and Chester's best friends!

Maddie running and running.

Maddie came in and there were a few snowflakes left on her nose.

Like I said....Chester enjoyed his snow day!

Tim also enjoyed running around with the doggies!

Five months in the making...

Well we finally did it. After searching for five months for a table and chairs, that would fit our kitchen, we finally found them and they were on sale! I am keeping with the theme in our house of large furniture haha. The table is a pub height table made of solid wood and it's awesome! Thanks to our fantastic neighbors who took us to target in their truck so we could get it home!

Chester wanted to scope out the situation. Maddie was of course scared of all the activity and was hiding behind a chair in the living room the whole time.

These are the chairs. I was hesitant at first but then I sat in them and they were so comfortable. Our table and chairs!! YEAH!
Maddie and Chester sniffing around the new addition.

Finally.....a semi finished kitchen! The best part is that since there are only two of us we have the table pushed up against the wall but when we have company over we can just pull it out and have plenty of room for four people. It was a big expense but it is also a big relief to have this task completed.

Kitchen table?

Well we may have found it! We were getting groceries at Target today and they are having a 30% off sale in their Global Bazaar section. I'm super excited even though we're going to end up spending more money then we wanted too. Isn't that always the case? Well Tim's out for a bike ride right now and I have some work to do. We said we wanted to let the idea marinate for the afternoon so if by this evening we're still sold...we're heading back to Target!

I'll keep you all updated!!!

So clearly this is Maddie. The video is boring but what can you do! She's cute and any opportunity to video tape her cuteness will be taken. She gets so into the movies of dogs and now that she's discovered YouTube she's a super happy camper.

When the cat's away....

What's the old saying....when the cat's away the mice will play. Well Tim's out of town. He hasn't gone anywhere in awhile so the dogs and I decided to console ourselves with treats. For me it was Subway but for the puppies it was two of the many many treats that Grandma Klotz gave them for Christmas. After chasing the ball for twenty minutes, each, they both got treats! They are now very happy campers...even if they are sitting downstairs waiting for Tim to get home.

So this is clearly not a picture of Maddie eating her treat. This is her nasty paw. After cleaning off her paws for a few minutes each they are still this gross. We have to buy a full blown carpet cleaner because with our almost white carpet....our spot bot can't handle the load!

Continuing a trip down memory lane.....

This past fall Tim and I were very lucky to get tickets to a UNC Football game, where they played UConn. This past week we were also lucky enough to get UNC Basketball tickets. They were nosebleed seats and they played the College of Charleston but it was a lot of fun! At this point we have seen almost all of the major teams here in the Raleigh area. All that's left is to see a Duke basketball game and an NC State basketball game. We've seen the local baseball team and the Hurricanes play. The best part, we haven't paid for a single ticket! I love perks lol. Here are a few shots from many of these events.

This is the UNC Football game.

Below is the Durham Bulls Baseball game.

It may be hard to see in this video but everytime the Durham Bulls get a homerun the bulls eyes light up red and he snorts smoke or whatever. It is amusing and everyone loves it. I just thought it was amusing haha!
