Little Tripp

So I just realized I never put up any of my pictures of Tripp. Since I was only around for a few days I really don't have that many but I'm hoping over Christmas I will get plenty more. What are aunts around for if not to blind their nieces and nephews! See you all in a few days!

Christmas Update!

For those of you that think you are anal retentive! Below are my Christmas folders. That's right...you have all been relegated to a folder haha! This may be news to many of you but I am ridiculously organized these days....I'm slowly turning into Beth! (Although I refuse to keep a day planner!) It's my own form of rebellion.

Library Book Sale

So today Tim and I went to the Wake County Public Library Booksale. This is an annual thing that the Wake County libraries get together and purge their libraries of old, outdated, as well as over ordered books. Today was the last day of the sale so there were slim pickings but the prices were worth it, $2 a bag of books and $5 for a box. It was in an empty Kmart and they used all of the space! Below are some pictures of what was still left as of today. It was crazy!







This is our box of books. A whopping $5 got us some great reading for the time being. We're turning into my father and collecting ridiculous amounts of books. Probably next year we're going to do attempt to either sell or donate books! I refuse to keep them all!

Sad me...no kitchen table yet...back to online looking! Why is it so hard to find a cheap kitchen table and chairs!!

A Few Updates

This is the first floor office/bedroom. We decided to make this our sports room. Of course it had to be done in Penn State colors so while Tim was away this past week I decided to surprise him by finishing/starting the room. We didn't want to spend much money on this room yet so everything in the room we already had except the paint of course! The stripes look fabulous from far away but up close they're a mess. Oh well...it was my first try and I'll figure out how to make it better next time!


This is the room before we moved in. Spotless and empty haha...that didn't last long!


This is the junk. I moved everything into the center of the room to paint around it. I couldn't believe how much was in there. I generally avoid the room!

I put two coats of bright white paint on the walls and then started taping up the stripes. Thank goodness for our neighbors and their laser level otherwise it would have taken me even longer then it already did!
This is the first coat of blue. It went on almost green blue and I started to get nervous....luckily three coats later it looked a lot better.
This is the only wall with more then one stripe.

This is after the 3rd coat. Finally back to dark blue!

This is the final product. Just don't look in the corners or too carefully at the edges of the stripes! For some reason Chester wanted to be in the shots!


There's still a lot of junk in the room but for now it stays. I want to get some shelves and put up some of our sports stuff but I'll have to get it back from PA first! We're running out to get a kitchen table now but when I get back I'll put up some more pictures of updates!

Beth's Baby Shower

This past Sunday was Beth's baby shower. Luckily Tim and I were already in town even though we all know I would have made the special trip. As if Beth had planned it herself there was barely a cloud in the sky. The house and grounds were gorgeous and I kept sneaking away to take as many pictures as possible. I took around 70 pictures of the farm and the party. These are just a few but it's a start. Everyone has made a grand point of telling me I'm horrible at keeping up with this blog so here you go. I'm not going to label them all, as I feel they are fairly self explanatory, but if you're not sure what something is....ask me!
